Supported Payment Methods & SEPA Details

The EFPRP supports several payment methods to make it as easy as possible to contribute to our work, projects, and initiatives.

We currently support online payments through Yapla and Stripe, as well as bank transfers through the SEPA network.

Where possible, we recommend SEPA bank transfers for larger contributions or donors who prefer a direct bank-to-bank transfer, as they generally involve lower processing costs for the EFPRP.

Payment Methods

Yapla

The EFPRP uses Yapla for general donations and contributions supporting specific projects and initiatives.

Yapla provides a dedicated platform for processing donations and allows us to manage contributions securely and efficiently.

Available payment methods may vary depending on the specific Yapla donation form and the donor's country.

Stripe

The EFPRP uses Stripe to process certain online payments, including payments associated with EFPRP products and other applicable transactions.

Stripe provides secure payment processing while allowing us to accept common electronic payment methods.

A small processing fee is deducted from these transactions and paid to Stripe. The EFPRP does not charge an additional payment-processing surcharge to the donor solely because Stripe is used.

SEPA & International Bank Transfers (SWIFT)

The EFPRP supports bank transfers through both SEPA and SWIFT.

To help maximize the amount of your contribution without payment-gateway processing fees, we strongly recommend bank transfers for donors who prefer this payment method.

The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a European payment framework that facilitates electronic payments in euros between participating countries. This allows, for example, a euro transfer from a bank account in Greece to the EFPRP's French bank account to be processed under the SEPA framework, generally making it comparable to a domestic euro transfer.

For transfers made from a French bank account to the EFPRP's French bank account, there is generally no transfer fee charged to the donor, although this ultimately depends on the donor's bank and account terms.

For transfers originating from countries outside the SEPA area, such as the United States, international bank transfers may be processed through the SWIFT network, the global messaging infrastructure used by financial institutions to facilitate international payments.

Please note that transfers originating from other SEPA countries or through the SWIFT network may be subject to fees charged by the donor's bank, intermediary banks, or other financial institutions involved in processing the transaction. Processing times may also vary.

Because these fees and processing times are determined by the financial institutions involved, the EFPRP cannot guarantee a specific transfer time or exact fee for an individual transaction.

Requesting Our SEPA Bank Details

For security and administrative reasons, the EFPRP does not publish its full bank-account details, including its IBAN and BIC/SWIFT, directly on this website. If you would like to make a contribution by bank transfer, you may request the EFPRP's official SEPA payment details from us.

When requesting the details, please provide:

  • Your name or organization name.
  • The purpose of the transfer (e.g. general donation, project contribution, or other approved contribution).
  • Your preferred contact information.

We will provide the applicable bank-transfer instructions through an official EFPRP communication channel.

Important: Please only use bank details provided directly by the EFPRP through an official communication channel. If you receive bank details that differ from those previously provided to you, please verify them with the EFPRP before initiating a transfer.

This additional verification step helps reduce the risk of payment fraud, impersonation, and fraudulent changes to payment instructions.

Stripe Transaction & Processing Fees

We aim to be transparent about the costs associated with Stripe payment processing.

When you make a payment through Stripe, Stripe charges a transaction fee for processing the payment. These fees cover services such as payment processing, security, and transaction infrastructure.

The exact fee may vary depending on the payment method, card type, country, currency, and other transaction characteristics.

For Stripe transactions currently subject to the rates applicable to the EFPRP, the applicable fees include:

  • EEA cards: 1.5% + €0.25 per transaction.
  • UK cards: 2.5% + €0.25 per transaction.

These rates apply specifically to payments processed through Stripe and do not represent fees applicable to other EFPRP payment methods, such as Yapla or SEPA bank transfers.

Stripe's pricing and applicable processing fees may change over time. The fees applicable to a particular transaction are determined by Stripe based on the characteristics of that transaction.

Why We Recommend Bank Transfer

For donors who have access to SEPA bank transfers, this method can be particularly useful for larger contributions because it avoids the card-processing fees associated with services such as Stripe.

Bank transfers also allow the EFPRP to receive contributions directly into its organizational bank account.

However, online payment platforms remain available for donors who prefer the convenience of paying by card or through another supported electronic payment method.

Our goal is to provide choice while keeping payment processing as efficient and transparent as possible.
