Volunteering? Here's what you need to know

Field Operations Volunteering at the EFPRP

Important Distinction: Field vs. Internal Roles

It is vital to distinguish Field Operations Volunteers from internal administrative staff.

  • Field Operations Volunteers are local agents of change who belong to one of our EOZ (European Operational Zone) Volunteer Networks (Zones 1–8 of the EFPRP European Zones Map). They operate externally, focusing on community action, environmental restoration, and immediate assistance. They do not hold internal decision-making powers or access to the EFPRP’s central data systems.

  • Administrative Pro-bono Positions are internal roles (e.g., Legal, HR, IT) with full access to the nonprofit’s infrastructure. This article specifically addresses the Field Operations track.

Available Field Positions

Within the EOZ Volunteer Networks, there are currently two primary designations:

1. Field Operations Volunteer

The core of our mission. These volunteers perform general task-force duties on the ground, including:

  • Reforestation: Tree planting and rural preservation maintenance.
  • Crisis Support: Assisting affected populations during and after incidents.
  • Education: conducting local awareness campaigns on fire safety.

2. EOZ Representative

A leadership designation for experienced field volunteers.

  • Role: Acts as the direct liaison between their local Volunteer Network and the EFPRP Headquarters.
  • Responsibilities: Coordinates local teams and reports directly to the Volunteer Coordination team.

Operational Notice: As our network expands, the Human Resources (HR) department currently processes all applications, including Field Operations Volunteers and internal staff positions. Please be advised that as volume increases, the management of Field Volunteers will eventually transfer entirely to the specialized Volunteer Coordination & Operations Department (VC&O). Until that transition is officially announced, please continue to direct all inquiries to HR.
