Partnerships: Becoming an EFPRP Partner

The European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization (EFPRP) works with organizations, institutions, professionals, businesses, community groups, and individuals who share our commitment to fire prevention, environmental protection, rural preservation, and resilient communities.

Through partnerships and collaborations, we bring together complementary expertise, resources, and networks to support initiatives that contribute to these objectives.

What Is an EFPRP Partner?

An EFPRP Partner is an organization or individual that has established a formal partnership or collaboration with the EFPRP to pursue one or more shared objectives.

Partnerships can range from a collaboration on a specific project to a longer-term strategic relationship. The scope, responsibilities, and expected outcomes of each partnership are determined according to the nature of the collaboration.

Depending on the partnership, partners may collaborate on areas such as:

Fire prevention and risk reduction.
Rural and environmental preservation.
Research and knowledge development.
Education, training, and awareness.
Community resilience and preparedness.
Technical or professional initiatives.
Events, campaigns, and public-interest projects.
Resource or expertise sharing.
Development of joint initiatives and programs.

Being an EFPRP Partner does not necessarily imply sponsorship, financial support, endorsement, or exclusivity. These matters are determined separately according to the terms of each partnership.

Participation and access to specific opportunities are subject to the applicable partnership terms and eligibility requirements.

This can create opportunities for future collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the development of new initiatives.

Types of Partnerships

The EFPRP can establish different types of partnerships depending on the objectives and requirements of the proposed collaboration.

Strategic Partnerships

Strategic partnerships are generally longer-term collaborations between the EFPRP and another organization or individual.

They are intended to establish an ongoing relationship around shared objectives, programs, or areas of expertise.

Project-Based Partnerships

Project-based partnerships focus on a specific initiative, campaign, event, research project, or other defined activity.

These partnerships generally remain active for the duration of the relevant project or according to the terms agreed upon by the parties.

Resource-sharing partnerships involve the contribution or exchange of resources that may support a joint initiative.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include equipment, facilities, personnel, professional services, technical capabilities, or other resources.

Any financial contribution or funding arrangement must be expressly agreed upon and documented.

Knowledge & Expertise Partnerships

Knowledge-sharing partnerships focus on exchanging information, expertise, research, professional experience, or technical knowledge.

These collaborations can support research, education, training, awareness, and the development of improved practices.

Institutional & Organizational Collaborations

The EFPRP may also collaborate with institutions, associations, companies, academic organizations, public-interest entities, and other organizations where their activities and objectives are compatible with the EFPRP's mission.

The nature and scope of such collaborations are determined on a case-by-case basis.

How to Become an EFPRP Partner

Express Your Interest

If you are interested in establishing a partnership or collaboration with the EFPRP, contact our Partners & Collaborations Department at partners@efprp.org.

Please provide sufficient information about yourself or your organization, the proposed collaboration, and the objectives you would like to achieve.

Current response time: The EFPRP currently aims to respond to new Partnership & Collaboration Proposals within 24 hours.

A response within this timeframe confirms receipt and initial consideration of the proposal; it does not constitute acceptance of the proposed partnership.

Discuss the Proposal

If the proposal is considered suitable for further consideration, the Partners & Collaborations Department may contact you to discuss the proposed collaboration in greater detail.

This may include discussing:

The objectives of the partnership.
The respective roles and responsibilities of each party.
The proposed activities or projects.
Expected outcomes.
Required resources or contributions.
Timelines and duration.
Communication and coordination arrangements.
Any applicable legal, financial, or administrative considerations.

Define the Partnership

Once the objectives and framework of the collaboration have been discussed, the parties can determine the appropriate form of partnership.

Not every collaboration requires the same contractual or administrative structure. Where appropriate, the EFPRP and its partner may establish a formal written partnership agreement or other appropriate documentation.

The agreement may define the scope of the partnership, responsibilities, duration, use of resources, communications, intellectual property, confidentiality, termination provisions, and other applicable conditions.

Collaborate & Implement

Once the partnership has been formally established, the parties can begin implementing the agreed activities and initiatives.

The EFPRP and its partners are expected to communicate and cooperate throughout the collaboration to ensure that agreed objectives are being pursued effectively.

Review & Develop

Where appropriate, partnerships may be reviewed periodically to assess progress, identify opportunities for improvement, and determine whether the collaboration should be continued, expanded, modified, or concluded.

Long-term partnerships may also evolve as the needs and objectives of the parties change.

Who Can Become an EFPRP Partner?

Partnership opportunities may be available to a wide range of organizations and individuals, provided that the proposed collaboration is compatible with the EFPRP's mission, values, activities, and applicable requirements.

Potential partners may include:

Non-governmental organizations and associations.
Public or institutional organizations.
Businesses and professional organizations.
Academic and research institutions.
Environmental and rural organizations.
Community groups.
Emergency and preparedness organizations.
Professionals and technical experts.
Educational organizations.
Other individuals or entities with relevant expertise or resources.

The EFPRP evaluates partnership proposals individually. Submission of a proposal does not guarantee that a partnership will be established.

What Makes a Good Partnership Proposal?

A strong proposal should clearly explain who you are, what you are proposing, and why the collaboration would be valuable.

Where possible, include:

Who you are: information about yourself or your organization.
What you propose: a clear description of the potential collaboration.
Why you are contacting the EFPRP: explain the connection between your proposal and our mission.
What you can contribute: such as expertise, resources, networks, facilities, research, funding, or other capabilities.
What you hope to achieve: identify the expected objectives or outcomes.
Relevant experience: provide examples of previous projects or activities where useful.
Contact information: provide an appropriate point of contact for further discussions.

The more specific the proposal, the easier it is for the EFPRP to assess its potential and determine the appropriate next steps.

Important Information

An expression of interest or partnership proposal does not create a partnership or contractual relationship with the EFPRP.

A partnership becomes effective only once the EFPRP and the prospective partner have agreed to the applicable terms and, where required, completed the appropriate formal documentation.

The EFPRP may decline proposals that are incompatible with its mission, values, operational capacity, legal obligations, or other applicable requirements.

Partnerships are also not automatically exclusive. Any exclusivity arrangement must be expressly agreed upon in writing.
